It’s not about homework!  This is a program that takes place at the child’s school, during the school year.  The Mentor spends one hour per week doing a fun activity or just talking with a child who could use a friend.  We encourage employers to give employees the time during the work day to volunteer…studies show that people who volunteer perform better on the job!

Ask about Teen Mentoring.  A Grade 11 or Grade 12 student can volunteer one hour per week in the elementary school.  He/she will be matched with a young student.  This is a fun way to volunteer.  It is also useful for high school students for their Career Prep, Peer Counselling, or for their resumes.
